Greensburg Kansas Still Recovering from 2007 Tornado
Greensburg, Kansas, 90% destroyed in an F-5 tornado in May 2007, continues its effort to recover and reinvent itself as a sustainable community. http://www.greensburgks.org/
The town continues to get recognition for its heroic recovery efforts. There was the Discovery Channel's Planet Green multi-year series on Greensburg, ongoing news coverage of recovery effort and recently an article from the Earthtechling.com "green tech" blog From Devastation To LEED: A Small Town Story

Federal, State, Local Cooperation Progress in Olive Hill
" Olive Hill Council for Planning and Restoration (CPR) and FEMA representatives met last week at Carter Caves State Resort Park with their planning partners from the FIVCO Area Development District, the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Kentucky Department for Local Government, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Natural Resources Conservation Service(NRCS), Kentucky Division of Water..."
“The state and federal partners seem really on board with the efforts CPR and FEMA have made,” said Wallace. “I plan to help continue these efforts to improve this area of our county.”
CPR President Debbie Harman, Olive Hill business owner, said it was amazing to see the progress the group has made.
“The meeting today was spectacular. Everyone had so many positive things to say and bring to the table,” said Harman. “We are all going away with new ideas and energy. We sat down with strangers but are walking away with friends who are willing to help us put the pieces back together.”

Recovery on the Bolivar Peninsula, Texs
"Disaster recovery in Texas is a calamity all its own. Just ask the fed-up folks on Bolivar Peninsual
September 2008, Congress appropriated $3.1 billion to help Texas recover from Hurricane Ike, the third-most costly storm in U.S. history, as well as from Hurricane Dolly, a lesser storm that tore through the Rio Grande Valley in July 2008. Roughly 55 percent, $1.7 billion, is earmarked for housing. The rest is slated for infrastructure and economic development. Only a tiny fraction of the money has reached victims.

Olive Hill Council for Planning and Restoration
The community of Olive Hill, through the Council for Planning and Restoration (CPR) continues to make progress on its recovery from back to back significant floods this past summer of 2010.
