Nashville Long Term Recovery Planning continues from 2010 floods

Citizens Invited to Participate in Flood Recovery Design Workshops

October 2010 “..At each workshop location, citizens will participate in small, round-table groups designing project proposals in the following areas: housing; education; social services; jobs and economic development; neighborhood enhancement; and sustainability. The intent is for each group to develop workable solutions that will help Nashville and Davidson County to, over the next 5 to 10 years, meet or exceed the expectations we had for our future before the setback of this past spring’s floods. Outcomes from the workshops will be important inputs in the development of the Long Term Recovery Plan (LTRP) for Nashville and Davidson County. ..”

“..Finally, in November citizens were asked to vote on 25 priority projects that emerged from the planning process. Display boards and voting sites were set up at locations across Metro; the public could also vote online. The projects are intended to form the basis of the final recovery plan that Metro Nashville — in conjunction with other government, non-government, civic, business and community partners — can implement in the years ahead”
